Have you asked yourself, “Who Am I? What the heck is my purpose? How am I unique? What am I supposed to be doing?” If so, you’re not alone, I’ve asked myself thousands of times, and I finally have an answer. But before I give you my spew of learning who I am, I want you to take a moment and think about who you are.
If you find yourself struggling with this question, no fear! I’m here to help you!
People used to ask me all the time, “Kim what do you like? What do you think your purpose is?” I only had one answer: to help people. The scripture I would use is simple: Ecclesiastes: 9:10- “Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with your might; for there is no work or device or knowledge or wisdom in the grave where you are going”.
I can also remember days where I would tell my friends, “I just don’t know what my purpose is. I don’t know what I want to do with my life. I don’t feel that I have a passion for anything.” All I could think of was, “Do what my parents said- go to school, get a degree, get a good job!” Come to find out, I was asking the wrong people a question that could only be answered by the big guy upstairs! Someone who knows me better than I know myself. Someone that bottles up my tears and knows what I’m about to ask before I even mutter a word! I’ve wasted years trying to find out what fancy career I’m supposed to have, when all He wants me to do is be present in the lives of others.
What does that mean, Kim?
That means I have a ministry of presence.
You can ask anyone who knows me; I’m reliable, trustworthy, and present in all my friends’ lives. I’m their encourager, up-lifter, and transparency coach. I help others find joy with the DNA given to them and by planting small seeds of hope in them. Simply, by being present, available, and helpful. Basically, living out the scripture I previously mentioned, “Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with you might.” Fulfilling my mission in life by serving and lending a helping hand.
With that being said, I want to help you answer this question: Who are you? Today, take some time and write down who you are, what defines you, what makes you unique, and why people gravitate to you! I’m telling you, once you know who you are and it’s on paper, you can start speaking life to yourself! Trust me, no one can be you no matter how much they try! We are all unique and here for a purpose. Become YOU today. If you don’t know who that is, I’m here to help you.
