Raise your hand if you love traveling! I find so much joy in seeing the world, and although I generally tend to take one big trip a year, I’ve decided that once a year is just not enough. For that reason, my husband and I decided to travel to California. I just knew this trip was going to be epic!
Via Instagram, one of my favorite artist announced he would be on stage at Bottlerock! Since I follow him wherever he goes, I knew I had to be here! My friend introduced me to Allen Stone back in 2012, and I’ve been hooked ever since. Now my husband loves him! He is the truth y’all! This man can SANG! Yes, I said SANG, but you might be wondering, as I did, what the heck is BottleRock?
What is BottleRock
BottleRock is 3-day festival for food lovers, wine connoisseurs, and music fans to unite and simply enjoy ALL! It’s very similar to a Woodstock show, or better yet, a fancy Coachella. I’ve never been to either, so I was blown away by it all! Since I’ve never been I wanted to experience the entire 3-days, so I purchased the 3-day general pass. There were also options to purchase 1 or 2 day passes. I will definitely splurge and get the VIP experience next time.
Line-Up
Another reason why I decided to head to BottleRock was after seeing the amazing line-up that was going to be ALL in one place. From Muse, Billy Heart, Snoop Dogg, Earth Wind & Fire, Bruno Mars and so many more, I couldn’t let this event happen without being there! There was a schedule of all artist that was easily accessible with the BottleRock app which was a huge help.
What to Expect
Our schedule was jam-packed for the entire 3-days from 11am-10pm. So, It’s definitely not for the faint of heart! They allowed us to bring a back-pack so we carried our empty water bottles to stay hydrated (they were so gracious enough to provide filtered water stations), sunglasses, goodwipes (to stay fresh during the day because it was hot outside), and our airlounj that I talked about in my previous post. We tried to use the airlounj a few times and they made us deflate it because they deem it as a chair. I highly suggest bringing a blanket unless you plan on standing the entire time.
Venue
The venue for BottleRock was amazing! The use of the space was excellently prepared as it was very well organized with over 6 stages, water stations, a culinary garden, a food truck alley, sweet street, a wine garden and so much more. Everything we needed was all there! Once we got in, there was absolutely no need to leave. One of our favorite spots in the venue that I would like to highlight was the Coors Light Silver Bullet Bar. Y’all! This place served as a rest stop for me and my husband multiple times because there were chairs, a pool table, fans and cold beer and TV’s that kept my man happy. But for me, the DJ’s spinning on the 1’s and 2’s was absolutely awesome! DJ Weapon, in particular, was amazing! He played all the old-school jams and everyone had a good time! We danced the night away and snapped pictures to reflect on the memories for years to come. You might be wondering about the restroom situation and to my surprise it wasn’t bad. Yes, they had port-a-potty stations in multiple areas that were kept clean at all times. We even saw custodians all times of the day sanitizing and making sure that each stall was tidy which was a huge plus in my book! With over 120,000 thousand people in attendance, I was dreading this part before I got there, but after seeing how tidy everything was kept, I was much more relaxed.
Artist that I was drawn too
The entire line-up was absolutely amazing, but I wanted to highlight a few people that had me at hello…
- Jacob Banks
- The Head and The Heart
- Earth Wind & Fire
- Allen Stone
- Bruno Stars
Although each artist is unique in their own rights, they each possess smooth, soulful, and calm voices that I thoroughly enjoy. The first two artists were new to me, but I fell in love with London’s Jacob Banks deep, raspy and soulful voice. I immediately downloaded every album that is currently on iTunes after hearing him that night, and I’ve been enjoying his music ever since. I was recommended to go listen to The Head and The Heart set at BottleRock by a beautiful blogger. I was so glad I did. Their voices are incomparable to what I’ve heard by a band in long time. The other three artist don’t need explaining at all! Epic performances! If you haven’t checked out my BottleRock highlight on Instagram, head there to catch some of the performances.
So, if you’re wondering if I would go back to BottleRock again, ABSOLUTELY! I have no regrets and I can’t wait to see the line-up next year! I hope to see you there, too! It’s a great experience and the food… OMG… You’ll have to wait to next week to see everything I devoured!
