The waiting game is tough, but a week has passed, results are in and I was back in the office with my husband anxiously waiting to hear if everything was ok in there! (literally).
I was greeted by Dr. Dara Havemann, who was just as excited as I was to hear my results, but first dived in a little bit more in depth about why AMH testing is a great starting point, the AMH scaling point that I should currently be in, and how often I should have my levels checked. It was very interesting to say the least. The human body has so many contributing factors and I was grateful that she had time to discuss and even draw pictures for me to get a better understanding.
I must say, that my entire experience at Dallas IVF-Mckinney Fertility Center was absolutely amazing! I’m definitely not a fan of getting blood work, so I went in nervous! the nurse was so patient with me and waited until I was ready for her to go in for the kill and get my blood! Within minutes I was out of the door with tons of information to read and waiting for my test results to come back.
So what we’ve all been waiting for: My results….
drumroll please…………
My AMH Level is normal! I’m normal folks! I have eggs. The AMH scale ranges from 1-3, so you want to be somewhere along these lines. My exact results were 1.86. Dr. Havemann advised that I’m exactly where I’m supposed to be according to my age, but it’s time for my husband and I to start coming up with a plan for our future. I’ve never felt so comfortable talking about other options such as other fertility testing that can be done, freezing my eggs or even IVF until I stepped into this facility. I felt at home and wasn’t afraid to talk about my concerns, fears or my next steps concerning this area of my journey.
I’m so glad that I decided to take this small step and have my AMH levels checked! I hope that this encourages you to make a appointment today if you’ve ever had wondered the same questions like me. It definitely eases your mind, and I know that all things are in God’s timing!
Fact: Women under the age of 35 should visit a fertility specialist after trying to get pregnant for one year.
Now through August 31, 2017 Dallas IVF is offering free AMH testing. To schedule your appointment, please email Daenna Martinez at daenna@dallasivf.com.
